Keeping our practice focused is a deliberate choice. It allows us to devote time to each matter, remain accessible, and ensure that the partners work directly with every family — from the outset, through implementation and beyond.
This degree of personal involvement also requires discretion, sound judgement and respect for the personal nature of the matters entrusted to us.

We do not treat matters in isolation. We seek to work with each family over time, building an understanding of their circumstances, their wealth, their priorities and the decisions they have taken in the past.
This accumulated knowledge allows us to advise with greater insight and consistency, anticipate needs, and consider each new question in light of what has come before.
A broader perspective
A legal decision often has tax implications; a tax decision may affect the family’s wealth or succession planning. We therefore consider how each decision interacts with every other aspect of the situation.
Many of the families we advise have members, assets and interests across several countries. We take account of the jurisdictions involved and, where necessary, coordinate with trusted advisers in Portugal and abroad, while maintaining a clear view of the overall situation.

We have particularly close ties to Brazil, France and French-speaking Switzerland, as well as to the United Kingdom and the United States. This familiarity gives us a better understanding of the cultural, family and wealth-related considerations involved in each situation.
Whenever a matter involves more than one jurisdiction, we coordinate with lawyers, tax advisers, banks and other trusted advisers in Portugal and abroad, helping to ensure a coherent approach and a clear overall view of the situation.
